TRAINING

SAFE MANAGEMENT OF SCAFFOLDING OPERATIONS (SMSO) -  1 DAY COURSE

An essential course for Site Supervisors, Managers or Safety Professionals who deal with scaffolding, or even undertake basic safety tours with scaffolding involved.

 

This course aims to give attendees the confidence, skills and knowledge to provide a good basic all round awareness and understanding of the full scaffolding management process, and the minimum procedures your contractors should be using.

NASC TECHNICAL GUIDANCE TG20:21 AWARENESS  - 1/2 DAY COURSE

This course is aimed at any Scaffolders, Supervisors, Managers or Safety Professionals that require basic working knowledge of the TG20:21 Guidance Document and the E-Portal.

 

The course will give you knowledge of where and when TG20 is applicable, its limitations and a good overview of the types of scaffold which can be built using this guidance, and when a bespoke design is required. 

SCAFFOLD ANCHOR SELECTION, USE AND TESTING - ½ DAY COURSE

This course is aimed at scaffolders, supervisors, managers or any person who requires working knowledge of different types scaffold anchors, when and where they can be used and the suitable substrate for each anchor type. 

 

The course will cover anchors testing methods and a practical testing session.

MANUAL HANDLING FOR SCAFFOLDERS - 1/2 DAY COURSE
(GENERAL OPERATIVE COURSE ALSO AVAILABLE)

This course is aimed at Scaffolding Operatives, Drivers, Labourers, etc.  requiring the practical skills to lift safely

.
The training is based around the general principles within the with the NASC Guidance Document, SG6 Manual Handling for Scaffolders, and provides theory, practical skills and knowledge.

CUT OFF SAW TRAINING - 1/2 DAY COURSE

Give your Operatives the skills and knowledge to confidently, and safely operate various types of Cut Off Saws. This can include Stihl Saws, Reciprocation Saws and Circular Type Tube Saws.

CHOP SAW TRAINING - 1/2 DAY COURSE

Give your Operatives the skills and knowledge to confidently, and safely operate various types of Chop Saw, which include Timber Chop Saws (Compound and Sliding Mitre Saws) Handheld Circular Saws.

GIN WHEEL
SAFE USE & INSPECTION

Give your operatives the skills and knowledge to confidently and safely erect, use, and inspect Gin wheels on scaffolding structures.

 

Training covers various different types of knots and hitches which can be used for a variety of materials.

System Stair Tower Training
(1/2 or 1 day - dependent upon number of attendees)

System scaffold stair tower erection course aims to teach your operatives how to safely erect and dismantle systems stair towers, without having to improvised or make do.

 

Most site will accept this certificate as competence (minimum entry requirements for this course)

Various manufacturers covered such as Layher, Plettac, Haki, Trad, Generation etc. with a heavy practical element.

CDM AWARENESS
(1/2 DAY COURSE)

This CDM awareness course is aimed at Supervisors or Managers who may be new to the construction industry, or new to a management role with little knowledge of CDM requirements.

SAFE USE AND INSPECTION OF HARNESS (USER) 2-3 HOURS

This course is aimed at any person who works at height, who may have to use a harness and lanyard as part of their daily activities.

It will give the knowledge of how to safely and confidently use a harness, and identify suitable anchor points.


The course includes a practical pre use inspection session.

SAFE USE AND INSPECTION OF HARNESS (COMPETENT PERSON) 3-4 HOURS

This course is aimed at any person who works at height, who may have to use a harness and lanyard as part of their daily activities and or undertake a Competent Person recorded thorough inspection.
It will give them the knowledge to safely and confidently use their harness and identify suitable anchor points.
As part of the course a practical thorough inspection session will be undertaken and the completion of the legally required thorough inspection documentation.

SCAFFOLDER RESCUE  - 1/2 OR 1 DAY COURSE

For scaffolders and supervisors who may have to rescue other operatives from scaffolding structures, to a place of safety.
The course provides information to enable the creation of suitable rescue plans, the theory on differing types of Specialist Rescue Equipment and a practical session on the companies chosen method of Remote Rescue. (This requires a Rescue Tower Building by the Client).
